This gallery was founded in the Meiji era as a shop which dealt in tea, inkstones and Karatsu porcelain. Even though they handle many secondhand articles and antiques these days, their noren always features a tea-leaf because they have dealt in Uji tea leaves and powdered tea since the old days. Their previous noren featured a single huge green tea-leaf. But this noren (their fifth) has many little tea-leaves on a bright background, which calls to mind the image of green tea.
