Katsuyama Folk Museum

Opened in 1987, the museum exhibits artifacts excavated from ruins in the city, as well as ancient documents, weapons and household goods belonging to the Miura family, the former lords of Katsuyama castle. They also have historical items from the days when Katsuyama was a prosperous castle town. In addition, materials belonging to the great writer Junichiro Tanizaki, who evacuated to Katsuyama with his family just before the end of the war, are also on display.
